Add texting and get ready to send

What it is

On accounts where texting is available, the Texting card under Plan and billing shows the price per agent, how many texts each agent gets a month, and a checklist of what is left before your first text.

Settings > Billing > Plan and billing > Texting

Steps

1. On the Texting card, check the price per agent a month and the included texts.
2. Press Add texting. Your card is charged that day for each agent seat, then on that day each month, separate from your plan. If the card says texting cannot be bought online yet, press Open a support request and it is added for you.
3. Work through Before texts can send: finish Business registration in Text registration, then pick Your texting number under Outbound numbers.
4. When the card says you are ready, press Open the Inbox to send your first text.

Good to know

• Texting has no free trial. The text registration starts once texting is added, and texts go out when it is approved.
• If a texting payment fails, texting turns off right away and the card shows Update card and Retry payment. Retry within 24 hours to keep the same billing day.
• Only the account owner can add or cancel texting. Others see “Ask the account owner to add texting.”
• Each text is up to 160 plain characters, with no emoji, so one text is always one text.
• Texts this month shows how many you have used. If they run out, sending pauses until the 1st. Nothing extra is charged.
• Your texting number stays out of the dialing rotation, so the daily call limit never touches it. Pick an area code your prospects recognize.
• To stop, press Cancel texting, then Yes, cancel texting. Its billing ends and sending stops right away. Conversations already in the Inbox stay. You can add it again any time.
