What it is
An abandoned call is someone who answers while you are already on another call and hears your live-answer message instead of you. Federal rules limit abandoned calls to 3 percent of answered calls per campaign over 30 days. You are responsible for staying within it. The abandon throttle decides whether the dialer also slows down for you when a campaign passes that line.
Where to find it
Settings > Calling > Dialer rules > Abandon throttle
Steps
- Open Settings and choose Dialer rules.
- Under Abandon throttle, pick one option. It saves at once.

Dialer rules, Abandon throttle: pick one option. It saves at once
Good to know
- Keep my lines is the default. The dialer ramps up to the lines you pick and holds them. Your abandoned rate is still counted and shown for every campaign, and RealDialer watches it.
- Slow down when abandoned calls pass 3% paces a campaign more carefully once it is over the line with enough answered calls to trust the rate, and may hold it to 3 lines until live answers bring it back under.
- Your live-answer message plays on every abandoned call either way.
- A change applies to the next call block you start, not one already running.
- Only an account owner or admin can change this. The screen shows when it was last changed.
